Note: Before all the legal-ly stuff below that generally applies to everything ActualTech Media does online, here’s the deal, in plain english, as to how we use your subscription information here on The Countermeasure newsletter and website:
1. When you subscribe to The Countermeasure here on thecountermeasure.co, we’ll use your email to send you the newsletter itself, reminders about referral rewards and invitations to events we’re hosting that we think you might want to attend. That’s it. If you register for other stuff on our other websites, the terms on those sites apply and override anything you see here, but it’ll be up to you if you want to sign up there or not.
2. If we need to send you your swag rewards for referring people you know to sign up for The Countermeasure, we’ll have to ask you for your shipping address.
3. If you refer people to subscribe to The Countermeasure we’ll apply the same practices above to them. We want you to feel comfortable referring new subscribers.
4. If you unsubscribe to The Countermeasure, but you’re subscribed to our other mailing lists for our events and other stuff, we’ll continue to send you that other stuff. You can unsubscribe to those other messages using the links in those email messages.
6. We use Facebook and Google-powered ad pixels to know if our ad efforts to get new subscribers are working or not and to try to convince folks who may be on the fence to signup if they visit and aren’t quite sure if they should sign up.
OK, on to the lawyers:
